Annual Conference LGA Study Tour SIG East Kent
16th to 18th June 2009
The annual LGA Coastal SIG (Special Interest Group) Conference was held between Tuesday 16th June and Thursday 18th June in East Kent. This provided an opportunity for coastal partners to learn about the regeneration plans in East Kent, including coastal regeneration in the Canterbury district, Whitstable Harbour and the plans for Folkestone Sea Front and Harbour area. There was also a focus on Coastal Defence in regards to managing a municipal harbour, the challenges of delivering Shoreline Management Plans, the benefits from Offshore Wind Farms and the opportunity of a sea trip to visit local wind turbines.
