Evaluation of Public Art Seminar - Artpoint
Wednesday 25th February 2009
Southwick Community Centre, Southwick
Due
to demand for more professional understanding around Public Art, Artpoint
undertook an afternoon session of evaluating public art in the public realm.
This session was open to those officers and Elected Members working within
community development, regeneration, economic development and Planning interested
in understanding the impact public art can have and how to effectively evaluate
these contributions to the local community.
Feedback / Comments :
- My objectives were to understand how to evaluate public art projects, ideas and techniques and gain any tools to support this. These objectives were all met.
- I will definitely use the information learned in my job as I need to undertake evaluation of our current Arts & Regeneration project. It was very useful thank you.
- My objectives were met. I wanted a general knowledge of what evaluation was in this context and whether we could utilise it in the context of the Bognor Regis Regeneration Task Force.
- My objective was how to evaluate public art’s contribution to creation of quality places. These objectives were met.
- I will benefit in my job with much better understanding of the way artists work. Now I’m much better able to engage with them.
- I have a better appreciation of how to establish their worth in the development process.
