Artpoint Public Art CPD Workshop

This
workshop was designed to give practical guidance on the commissioning of
public art in a local authority context. Artpoint’s Director Kevin
Wilson introduced a wide variety of public art approaches before examining
the commission process, local authority creative planning, public art strategies
and community consultation and outreach.
The day was primarily intended for arts, planning and regeneration officers from local authorities although it was also be of benefit to artists, arts consultants, design professionals and public and private sector commissioners.
The overall aim of the day was to increase understanding and awareness of the processes surrounding public art and to give practical help and ideas to use in working practice.
